ELITE RIDER AGREEMENT WITH LATERAL STRESS VELO CLUB, INC. Welcome to KBS / LSV Men’s Elite Racing Team. It’s going to be a great season and we hope to promote bicycling and bike racing in our community. In trying to keep good relations with our community, sponsors, and club, the following agreement outlines the benefits and responsibilities for each rider on the team. Please read it carefully, then sign it and return it; and let the season begin! Elite Team Benefits -Club dues waived -Team clothing (usually 3 kits) - Team bike for 2011 race season - Race Registration for designated team events or for races pre-approved by the Elite Team Director, not to include training series races. - Equipment deals: tires, glasses, food, shoes, sport drink (based on availability) - Housing and meal allowance for designated team events – amount is budget dependent - Non-team, non-approved events are paid out at non-elite club rates at the end of the season - The club non-elite Cat 1 – Cat 2 agreement is a $20 reimbursement for each non-designated team event raced, see website at http://www.lateralstressvelo.com/ for details). - Team Travel Allowance (amount TBD, as funds are available) - Bike shop program with Race Pace Bike Shop (15% over cost (not on bikes) and free labor on race bike) - All other perks available from club – PowerBar / CeraSport Products. Team Goals To perform and place at a high level at: 1. District Championships (RR, Crit, TT) 2. Regional NRC events 3. Local Mid-Atlantic events 4. Elite Nationals (if applicable) Team Race Calendar By signing this contract you commit to racing 95% of the race calendar. In addition, we are aware that ”life happens‟ so the team director can at his/her discretion provide a rider in need with a safety valve in special situations. Team Rider Resposibilities To qualify for above benefits: -Hold a current USACycling Category 1 license - Must compete in all designated “Team Races,” including MABRA Senior District Championships (RR, Crit, and TT) and designated MABRA BAR races. - Must wear helmet during all training! - Will wear team clothing, uniforms, and use team gear at races and for all racing, training, and club rides, and will not put unapproved stickers on bikes, helmets or other equipment. - Bicycle will be clean and in good working order; uniform will be complete, clean, and not torn or cut. - Will race, train and ride as a team, being available for pre-race meetings as required by Elite Team Director. Riders will follow team strategy and tactics as specified by the Director with team/rider input. - Will attend club and team rides, and club meetings, to the extent practical. - Must represent the club in a positive way and pursue the positive goals of the team and club. - Will not have personal bicycling related sponsorship deals without club’s approval. - Be available for promotional activities for sponsors, specifically Kelly Benefit Strategies, and Race Pace Bike Shop. - Promote club, sponsors, and the sport of bicycling, and participate in club activities such as the Kelly Cup. - Be available for two club clinics or like activities. Example: winter club rides or club end of season party - Show responsible conduct, sportsmanship, and promotion of safety at all times. - Lead a group ride during year, if rider is located in Baltimore area. Profit Sharing (Prize money.) A ‘team fund’ of $1000.00 has been established to cover incidental travel expenses our team members may sustain over the course of the season. - All prize money won at designated team races must be submitted to the team director who will distribute the prize money as follows: - If the balance in the ‘team fund’ is $1,000 or more, the prize money will be split equally among elite team riders that raced that event, with one equal share going to the team director and ‘team fund.’ - If the ‘team fund’ balance falls below $1,000 all prize money will go to the ‘team fund’ until the ‘team fund’ is returned to its full value ($1000.00). - Once the ‘team fund’ has been reestablished regular ‘profit sharing’ will resume at the next race event. - The ‘team fund’ will be used at the elite team director's discretion to reimburse rider’s travel costs and purchase items for the elite team such as radios, tools or other team equipment needs. - Riders are required to present receipts for travel costs to the team director for reimbursement. - Elite team riders in designated and non-designated team races have the option to defer their split of the prize money. - Prize money won at non-designated team races should be split equally among elite team riders at the race. - Provide club with an updated bio (for club website) resume every six months. - Comply with this agreement from its execution through December 31, 2011. - Abide by all rules and regulations of USA Cycling and UCI, as applicable, including all rules and regulations prohibiting the use of banned performance enhancing substances.
